In Halifax, England, 120 stonemasons from across Europe gathered. Under the motto “Myths and Legends,” they transformed natural stone into fascinating works of art. A recent highlight that celebrated enduring creativity and the European spirit.
Myths and Legends in Stone
On 24 and 25 May 2025, the Stone Festival / European Stone Festival took place in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. The host was the West Riding Stonecarving Association, a membership association of stonemasons and stone sculptors. The theme was “Myths and Legends.” Each participant had two days to realize their model in natural stone (Silverbed, dimensions 30 × 30 × 20 cm). This time, a total of 120 stonemasons from all over Europe took part.
