In Freiburg, which—with its world-famous Freiburg Minster and the Minster Construction Association, founded as early as 1890, as well as the Freiburg Minster Workshop—has a close connection to the theme of stonemasonry, the Förderverein Stein + Kultur organizes the European Stone Festival Freiburg 2026 as an umbrella association. The highlight of the festival is the awarding of the works, followed by their public auction.

“Förderverein Stein + Kultur”
Our association was founded to support the sculpting and stonemasonry trades and, in particular, to promote work with young talent. In this context, the joy of the profession is of immense importance—not only for the craft itself but also for each individual, young or old.
The proceeds from the auction of the created works will cover only a portion of the expenses. Therefore, we rely on donations to help finance the festival.
