The EU Stone Festival 2026 Program
The European Stone Festival 2026 will take place from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Eschholzpark in Freiburg. The festival is organized by the Stein + Kultur association in cooperation with the Friedrich Weinbrenner Vocational School.
We are looking forward to welcoming participants from all countries and hope for good weather, a lively exchange, and of course many visitors!

The schedule at a glance
Friday, May 15 2026
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. - Registration of the stonemasons
Saturday, May 16 2026
08:00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. – Work by the stonemasons. Afterwards, music until 10.00 p.m.
Sunday, May 17 2026
8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m – Work by the sculptors. 4:00 p.m.M – Award ceremony and auction of the sculptures.
Task:
An overview of the task for participants.
Theme
This year’s theme is “Diversity in the Garden.”
Working time
The implementation of the topic will be carried out within a working time of approximately 14 hours.
Draft
The participants work according to their own designs, and everyone brings a design drawing or a model with them..
Stone
Sandstones from different quarries will be provided; they have dimensions of 30 × 30 × 20 cm.
Tools
The participants bring their own tools.
