In Budapest, 120 stonemasons from 15 countries created impressive decorative stones and ornaments. The festival honored the 120-year-old Parliament building and used Fertőrákos sandstone for the intricately detailed works.
Magnificent Ornaments on the Parliament Building
The European Stone Festival 2024 took place from May 25th to 26th in Budapest, Hungary. The theme was “Decorative Stones, Statues, and Ornaments on the 120-Year-Old Parliament Building,” created from Fertőrákos sandstone (40 x 40 x 20 cm). 120 stonemasons from 15 countries participated. At the same time, many other events were happening across the city, yet the festival managed to secure a prime location between the Parliament and the Danube.
